Lianyungang Technical College, formerly known as Lianyungang Vocational University, was established in March 1983 with the approval of the Ministry of Education; in March 1999, Lianyungang Vocational College merged with Lianyungang Vocational Education Center and was renamed Lianyungang Vocational and Technical College. At the beginning of the establishment of the college, the college and more than one hundred vocational colleges across the country took the lead in raising the banner of “higher vocational education”, and achieved a historic leap of “establishment”. The college is located in a coastal city with beautiful scenery and pleasant climate, a city at the intersection of the “One Belt and One Road”, a national civilized city and an excellent tourist city in China-Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, at the foot of the famous Westward Journey Holy Land Huaguo Mountain. The college offers nearly 50 majors. Logistics management and pharmaceutical production technology are national key construction majors. The four majors of construction engineering technology, pharmaceutical production technology, numerical control technology application, and computer information management are provincial characteristic majors. Computer application technology, pharmaceutical production technology, and construction engineering technology are provincial specialties. It is a key construction professional group at the provincial level, marketing and tourism management are provincial key majors, and pharmaceutical production technology and construction engineering technology are provincial high-level backbone majors. There are 2 national-level training bases, 5 provincial-level training bases (production-education integration platform, technology research and development center), and 1 national vocational skills appraisal institute.
