appreciation

This is an ode to maternal love. The poem consists of six sentences and thirty words. By recalling a seemingly ordinary scene of sewing clothes before leaving, the poem highlights and praises the greatness and selflessness of maternal love, and expresses the poet’s gratitude for maternal love and deep love and respect for his mother. This poem is sincere and natural. Although it is free of painting and carving, it is fresh and smooth. The simple and plain language contains a rich and mellow poetic flavor, which has been widely read for thousands of years.
The first two sentences, “The line in the mother’s hand, the coat of the wandering son”, use two very common things, “line” and “clothes”, to closely link “the mother” and “the wandering son”, and write the flesh and blood feelings of the mother and son. 3、 The four sentences, “When you leave, you are afraid of returning late”, deepen the feeling of flesh and blood through the portrayal of the mother’s action and psychology of making clothes for the traveler. The mother sewed thousands of stitches because she was afraid that her son would return later. The great maternal love is naturally revealed through the details of daily life. The first four sentences use line drawing technique without any modification, but the image of a loving mother is really touching.
The last two sentences, “Who says the heart of grass can win the three spring sunshine”, are the author’s direct expression of his mind and heartfelt eulogy of maternal love. These two sentences use the traditional metaphor: children are like grass, and maternal love is like sunshine in spring. How can children repay their mother’s love in case? The contrast of suspense and the figurative metaphor express the Chizi’s heartfelt love for his mother.
This poem artistically represents the common and great beauty of human nature, so it has won strong resonance from countless readers for thousands of years. Until the Qing Dynasty, two poets in Liyang recited such verses again: “My father’s book is empty and the basket is full, and the bus bar haunts my Ru” (Shi Qisheng’s Writings), “How many tears have always been used to dye hands to sew clothes” (Peng Gui’s “Jianchu younger brother came to capital to visit relatives with great joy”), which shows the deep impression of this poem on future generations. ▲
