Brief Introduction
Mount Qingxiu Scenic Area is located in Nanning 南宁, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, by the Yongjiang River 邕江. It starts from Qingshan Road in the west, ends at the ASEAN 东南亚国家联盟 Business District in the north, and borders Yongjiang River in the south and east, with an area of 13.54 square kilometers.
The predecessor of Mount Qingxiu Scenic Area is Qingshan Forest Farm. Nanning Qingxiu Mountain was rebuilt in 1986 and officially opened in October 1987; As of 2015, there are 6128 species of plants in Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area, belonging to 1283 genera and 235 families.
Mount Qingxiu Scenic Area is a national AAAAA scenic spot, an autonomous region scenic spot, one of the “top ten scenic spots in Guangxi” and one of the “top ten scenic spots in Nanning”.
Mount Qingxiu is surrounded by hills and mountains. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south. There are more than 200 mountains and mountains. The altitude in the area is 63.9~288.3 meters, and the highest point is Phoenix Mountain 凤凰岭.

The Millennium Cycad Garden 千年苏铁园 in Nanning Mount Qingxiu covers an area of more than 100 mu(亩, a measuring unit). There are nearly 100 cycads of more than 1000 years old, and the oldest “king of cycads” is more than 1360 years old. More than 50 kinds of cycads have been collected in the park, with a total number of tens of thousands.
Millennium Cycad Garden is a classic garden with the characteristics of ex situ protection and landscaping.
Orchid Garden 兰园 is located southeast of the north gate of Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area, with a total area of 320 mu. The construction area of Phase I is 150 mu, with the theme of “Yanglan landscaping”. According to the ecological habits of various orchids, people naturally planted orchids among trees, in stone crevices, and beside gullies, and built scenic spots such as sky gardens, orchid fields, and orchid waterfalls. A total of 363 kinds of orchids were planted, with a total number of more than 300000 plants.
The construction area of the second phase of the Orchid Garden is 170 mu. With the main line of “health preservation of medicinal orchids” and “national orchid culture”, and in combination with the landscape layout of classical garden buildings such as pavilions, corridors, and pavilions, the cultural connotation of the Orchid Garden is improved, the varieties of orchid plants are increased, and the medicinal value of orchids is demonstrated. With a natural and simple style, it is built into a special outdoor orchid garden of landscape type.
The Guanyin Temple 观音禅寺 in Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. It has a history of 1000 years and covers an area of 15 mu. There are more than ten Buddha halls, including the Mahavira Hall, the Reclining Buddha Hall, the Dharma Protector Hall, the Prajna Hall, and the Jialan Hall.
Peach Blossom Island 桃花岛 is located in the northeast of the core scenic area of Mount Qingxiu Scenic Area, covering an area of about 200 mu. It is named because it is surrounded on three sides by a valley and an island in the middle, surrounded by clouds and fog all year round. There are more than 30000 peach flowers of dozens of species planted on Taohua Island.
Osmanthus Garden 桂花园 is the “Fragrant Valley” in the center of Nanning, and it is also the cohesion of the Eight Gui Spirit. The Fragrant Valley osmanthus Garden covers an area of more than 240 mu. There are about 10000 osmanthus trees, mainly in four categories: golden osmanthus, silver osmanthus, Cinnamomum cassia, and four-season osmanthus, with a total of more than 40 varieties. At the same time, tens of thousands of fragrant flower plants, such as magnolia, Michelia, and Milan, are also planted. It is an ecological special garden characterized by osmanthus gardening, displaying osmanthus plant varieties, and osmanthus theme culture.
The Guangxi Precious Tree Species Exhibition Garden 广西珍贵树种展示园 in Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area covers an area of about 300 mu. It focuses on the collection, display, protection, and breeding of Guangxi’s local precious tree species. It is a specialized botanical garden integrating popular science education and tourism. There are more than 1000 large and precious trees with high ornamental value, strong interest, and rich cultural connotation in the park.
