咏春雨

做冷欺花[1]，
将烟困柳[2]，
千里偷催春暮[3]。
尽日冥迷[4]，
愁里欲飞还住。
惊粉重、
蝶宿西园，
喜泥润、
燕归南浦[5]。
最妨他、
佳约风流，
钿车不到杜陵路[6]。
沉沉江上望极[7]，
还被春潮晚急，
难寻官渡[8]。
隐约遥峰，
和泪谢娘眉妩[9]。
临断岸、
新绿生时，
是落红、
带愁流处。
记当日、
门掩梨花，
剪灯深夜语[10]。
注释：
[1]做冷欺花：指春雨带来的寒冷有碍于百花的开放。
[2]将烟困柳：春雨迷蒙，如烟雾一样笼罩着杨柳。
[3]“千里”句：语出孟郊《喜雨》：“朝见一片云，暮成千里雨。”
[4]尽日冥迷：整日春雨绵绵。冥迷，阴暗迷茫貌。
[5]“惊粉重”二句：这里均是泛指的地点。这两句是说蝴蝶沾上了春雨，惊讶翅膀上蝶粉重了，去西园寻宿；春雨滋润了泥土，燕子高兴地从南浦衔来筑巢。
[6]“钿车”句：钿车，华美的车子。杜陵，汉宣帝陵墓所在地。当时附近一带住的多是富贵之家，故用来借指繁华的街道。
[7]“沉沉”句：极目远望，江上烟波渺茫无际。
[8]官渡：用公家渡船运送旅客。
[9]“隐约”二句：谢娘，唐代歌伎。后世泛指歌女。这两句是写烟雨笼罩远处的山峰，像谢娘被泪沾湿的眉毛那样妩媚好看。
[10]剪灯深夜语：化用李商隐《夜雨寄北》中“何当共剪西窗烛，却话巴山夜雨时”句意。

Shi Dazu
You breathe the cold to chill the flower’s heart,
And shroud the willows in mist grey;
Silent for miles and miles, you hasten spring to part.
You grizzle all the day;
Your grief won’t fly but stay.
Surprised to find their pollen heavy,
The butterflies won’t leave the garden in the west;
The moistened clods of clay make happy
The swallows building on the southern pool their nest.
But what is morn, you prevent the gallant to meet
In golden cab his mistress sweet.
With straining eyes I gaze on the stream vast and dim,
With spring time flood at dusk its waters overbrim,
The ferry can hardly be found.
Half-hidden peaks like Beauty’s brows in tears are drowned.
On broken bank where new green grows,
The fallen red with saddened water flows.
I still remember how outdoors you beat
On the pear blossoms white,
I trimmed lamp-wick and whispered to my sweet
At the dead of a night.
