驿外[2]断桥边，
寂寞开无主。
已是黄昏独自愁，
更著风和雨。
无意苦争春，
一任群芳妒。
零落成泥碾作尘，
只有香如故。
注释：
[1]卜算子：词牌名。万树《词律》引用毛先舒的话说，骆宾王的诗喜欢用数字，被人称作“卜算子”。
[2]驿外：驿站之外。驿站是指古时专供传递文书者或来往官吏中途住宿、补给、换马的处所。

· Ode to the Mume Blossom
Lu You
Beside the broken bridge and outside the post hall
A flower is blooming forlorn.
Saddened by her solitude at nightfall,
By wind and rain she’s further torn.
Let other flowers their envy pour!
To spring she lays no claim.
Fallen in mud and ground to dust, she seems no more,
But her fragrance is still the same.

This lyric glorifies the spirit of the mume blossom and of the poet himself.
《卜算子·咏梅》是南宋词人陆游创作的一首词。这是一首咏梅词，上片集中写了梅花的困难处境，下片写梅花的灵魂及生死观。词人以物喻人，托物言志，以清新的情调写出了傲然不屈的梅花，暗喻了自己虽终生坎坷却坚贞不屈，达到了物我融一的境界，笔致细腻，意味深隽，是咏梅词中的绝唱。
“Song of Divination · Ode to the Mume Blossom” is a lyric composed by Lu You, a lyricist of the Southern Song Dynasty. The upper piece focuses on the difficult situation of plum blossoms, and the lower piece on the soul of plum blossoms and the concept of life and death. The lyricist uses objects as a metaphor for people and speaks of his will, and writes about the proud and unyielding plum blossoms in a fresh mood, implying his own steadfastness despite the hardships of his life, achieving a realm of harmony between things and me.
