Song of Magnolia Flower
Wang Guan
On the pathway after the spring day
The first to waft in breeze are willow trees,
Not so attractive to spring as mume blooms divine
But to those who part more heart-breaking than wine.
The Sun God in the East has for you a love tender;
He’s fond of your waist slender.
No lady could forget you now
When she unknits her leaf-like brow.

注释:
The willow tree is compared to a fair lady and its leaves to her eyebrows.\

The lyric is written in a lively, clear and natural tone, using the willow as a metaphor for people.
