波声拍枕长淮[1]晓，
隙月[2]窥人小。
无情汴水[3]自东流，
只载一船离恨向西州。
竹溪花浦曾同醉，
酒味多于泪。
谁教风鉴在尘埃[4]？
酝造一场烦恼送人来！

[1]长淮：指淮河。
[2]隙月：（船篷）缝隙中透进的月光。
[3]汴水：古河名。唐宋时将出自黄河至淮河的通济渠东段全流统称汴水或汴河。
[4]“谁教”句：风鉴，风度识见，也指对人的观察、看相。这句意为：谁使得秦观这样为我所赏识的优秀人才却被埋没而沦落。

River Huai’s waves seem to beat my pillow till dawn;
A ray of moonbeam peeps at me forlorn.
The heartless River Bian flows eastward down,
Laden with parting grief, you’ve left the town.
Once we got drunk by riverside bamboo and flower,
My tears made sweet wine sour.
How could a mirror not be stained with dust?
Who could predict the trouble brewing up in gust?

《虞美人·波声拍枕长淮晓》是北宋文学家苏轼所写的一首词。该词上片咏东坡与秦观夜饮于舟中，感叹人生。下片叙与秦观难忘情分，惜秦观贤才埋没。全词上下两片均是由景人情，由自然引入人生。东坡借宴饮欢送秦观去扬州之机，抒发人生短暂和壮志难酬的愁绪。词人运用对比、移情的手法，将物人格化了：“汴水”“无情”，船载“离恨”，“风鉴”“尘埃”，“酝造”“烦恼”，感情色彩异常浓烈。
“The Beautiful Lady Yu” is a lyric written by Su Shi, a writer of the Northern Song Dynasty. The first piece of the poem is about Dongpo and Qin Guan drinking in a boat at night and lamenting about life. The next piece narrates the unforgettable love with Qin Guan and regrets that Qin Guan’s virtuous talent is buried. Both the upper and lower pieces of the lyric are from the scenery and human feelings, from nature to life. Dongpo takes the opportunity of banqueting and sending Qin Guan off to Yangzhou to express his sorrow that life is short and his ambition is hard to be fulfilled. The lyricist uses contrast and empathy to personify the objects: “Bianshui” is “emotionless”, the boat carries “hate for leaving”, “wind and dust”.
