1.The original lyrics made it clear that the term ‘you’ in the lyrics refer to a future ‘you’ literally. I’ve interpreted it as ‘you’ after breaking up; even though the lyrics don’t mention the term breaking up explicitly, but the meaning is implied given how Ashin keeps emphasizing the difference between future ‘you’s and ‘me’s and the past ‘us’. This bit was particularly hard to translate, the reason why I kept delaying in translating this.
2.A common theme in Chinese pop songs is unrequited love. Ashin has written plenty of love songs describing this theme, from Embrace (When you finally realise my love, the moonlight would have dried my tears) to I Won’t Let You Be Lonely. Most fans think that this line contains a reference to I Won’t Let You Be Lonely, where Ashin wrote, ‘Don’t look back, just keep flying ahead’.
3.The Chinese lyrics refer to this as ‘somewhere’, but Ashin had mentioned in his microblog that he was referring to an alternate universe in this song.
