About Shenyang Ligong University

Shenyang Ligong University (SYLU), founded in 1948, is a pilot university of the National Plan for Education and Training of Excellent Engineers, a university to recruit international students with Chinese Government Scholarship and a university approved by the Ministry of Education for recruiting high-level football team.

SYLU covers an area of 1,130,000m2with school buildings covering 444,000m2. There is a local area network on the campus. The library occupies an area of 40,000m2with 1,435,500 paper books in the collection. The students’ cultural and sports facilities are all in readiness. A standard stadium and students’ sports center are established, which provide a good foundation for the all-round development of college students. SYLU is the National and Provincial Popular Science Education Base and has a state-level Sino-Russian science and technology cooperation base.

At present, SYLU has 16 schools (departments) and 58 undergraduate majors. It has formed a discipline layout with “Engineering as the focus and coordinated development of Science, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Economics, Management and Art”, and has a comprehensive system for cultivating undergraduates, postgraduates and doctors.Since its establishment, SYLU has cultivated more than 130,000 senior professionals for the country and made important contributions to the country’s economic construction and social progress.

There are 1,663 teaching staff and faculties, including 1 Double Academician and 486 doctoral and master tutors. SYLU has 17,460 full-time students, among whom 15,403 are undergraduate students, 1,982 are doctors and masters.

SYLU has been vigorously implementing the strategy of “prospering the university by opening up”, constantly exerts its advantages in cooperation with Russia, and strengthens the exchanges and cooperation with countries along the “Belt and Road”. SYLU has established stable cooperative partnerships with many universities and research institutes in Russia, Belarus, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Germany, Finland, Canada, Malaysia and other countries. The Sino-foreign cooperative education project in Chemical Engineering and Technology with Silesian University of Technology in Poland was approved as an undergraduate cooperative education project by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. SYLU has conducted 4+0, 2+2, 3+1 and other Sino-foreign exchange programs with universities in Britain, Poland, France and other countries. SYLU has cooperated with Tomsk University of Technology, Tomsk State University, St. Petersburg State University of Economics and other famous Russian universities to conduct the Sino-Russian 2+2 joint education projects, and cultivated a large number of “Professional + Russian” composite international talents. In 2012, SYLU became the priority selection institution for the “Professional Talents Training Program in Russia” of the China Scholarship Council. Over the years, SYLU has cultivated more than 4,000 international students from more than 50 countries and regions.

SYLU has built 4 cooperative laboratories with advanced equipment and technology with 9 research institutes affiliated to the National Academy of Sciences of Russia and Belarus. SYLU has also established Confucius Institute and the National Pushkin Russian Center in cooperation with Tomsk State Universityin Russia.
