About Chengdu Medical College

Chengdu Medical College is a full-time general higher medical school sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government. The history of the school can be traced back to 1947 as a training course for health cadres organized by the Soviet Military Region in Henan, Anhui and Anhui. In August 2004, according to the decision of the State Council and the Central Military Commission, the school was transferred to the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government as a whole, and was renamed as “Chengdu Medical College” from “Chengdu Military Medical College of Third Military Medical University”.

The school has two campuses, Xindu and Tianhui, covering an area of more than 1,200 acres and 13,500 full-time students. There are 8 master degree authorization points (5 master degree authorization points: clinical medicine, pharmacy, public health, applied psychology, nursing, 3 master science degree authorization points: basic medicine, medical technology, Marxist theory), new Approval of 4 master degree authorization points, 23 undergraduate majors, and 5 junior majors. There are 14 directly affiliated secondary teaching units, 1 directly affiliated hospital, 8 affiliated hospitals jointly built, 17 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and 128 off-campus practice teaching bases.

The school’s existing full-time teachers account for 51.89% of teachers with middle and senior professional titles, and 75.17% of teachers with master’s and doctoral degrees. Among them, there are more than 110 high-level talents and reserve candidates such as the academic and technical leaders of Sichuan Province and the Tianfu “Ten Thousand Talents Program”. The school has built 15 provincial and departmental key scientific research platforms such as the Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory, the Sichuan Provincial Engineering Laboratory, and the Sichuan Provincial Philosophy and Society Key Research Base, and established 10 provincial and departmental high-level research teams. Since 2006, 135 projects have been approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Foundation of China.
