Chongqing Vocational College of Industry and Trade is a full-time general higher vocational school organized by Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, a high-quality higher vocational institution in Chongqing, a model higher vocational institution in Chongqing, and a “good” school in the evaluation of the level of higher vocational training work. Since its establishment in 1936, it has trained more than 100,000 technical and managerial talents for the country.

The university is located in Fuling, where the Yangtze and Wu rivers meet and where the hometown of vegetables is located. The university has fixed assets of RMB 514 million, teaching and training equipment worth RMB 104 million, 9 on-campus production training bases, 151 on-campus training rooms, 630,000 paper books and 1.06 million electronic books.

The university has a high-level teaching team with a combination of full-time and part-time teaching, including 148 teachers with master’s degree or above, 17 professors, 116 associate professors, 295 “double-teacher” teachers, 5 young and middle-aged backbone teachers in Chongqing universities, 4 members of the National Industry Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, 1 member of the National Technical Product 1 member of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Technical Documents.

The university has 11 teaching institutions, including the School of Finance and Economics, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Health, the School of Construction Engineering, the School of Vehicle Engineering, the School of Artificial Intelligence, the School of Education, the School of Aurora, the School of Continuing Education, the School of Marxism and the International Teaching Department. There are 46 majors, including Mechatronics Technology, Pharmaceutical Production Technology, Food Testing Technology, Automotive Manufacturing and Testing Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Big Data Technology and Application, Big Data and Accounting, and Preschool Education. There are 4 training bases and 2 majors supported by the central government, 2 national-level backbone majors, 5 municipal-level backbone majors, 3 municipal-level double bases, 1 municipal-level teaching resource library, 1 municipal-level model construction project of curriculum thinking and government, 1 municipal-level model virtual imitation training base, 1 municipal-level application technology promotion centre, 11 municipal-level first-class courses, 1 municipal-level teaching team, and 13,084 students enrolled. The employment rate of graduates is over 98%.

The school adheres to the school motto of “Virtue, Knowledge, Skills and Innovation”, insists on the school philosophy of “highlighting higher education, maintaining vocationalism and reflecting regionalism”, establishes the education concept of “ability-based, employment-first and all-round development”, and explores the possibility of “higher education”. The school takes the deepening of the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation as the main line, focusing on professional construction, dovetailing with the “Made in China 2025”, the “6+1” pillar industries and the “2+10” strategic emerging industries in Chongqing, and serving the country. The school will focus on professional construction, dovetail with “Made in China 2025”, “6+1” pillar industries and “2+10” strategic emerging industries in Chongqing, serve the national strategy and local economy, and build a professional group with intelligent manufacturing, medicine and food, automobile and electronics, finance and commerce as the main features, with industry as the main focus and a combination of industry and trade to provide talent support for regional economic and social development. The school has established stable off-campus internship and training bases, set up modern apprenticeship classes such as “Huatong Zhizuo Class” and “Brilliance Xinyuan Class”, and carried out a pilot 1+X certificate system. The school’s internal quality assurance system has passed the first municipal-level diagnosis and review, and it is the first batch of units dispatched by the Chongqing Municipal Highly Skilled Personnel Training Base and the Chongqing Municipal “Enterprise Science and Technology Specialists – Hundred People Plan Action”.
