《飞狐外传》1960年—1961年首次连载于《武侠与历史》杂志。该书是《雪山飞狐》的前传，却写于其后，二者互相关联，却不完全统一。《飞狐外传》主要讲述《雪山飞狐》主人公胡斐的成长历程，可以看作是《雪山飞狐》的前传。小说以主人公胡斐除暴安良为故事的中心，讲述了胡斐为追杀凤天南在路上所发生的一切，特别是与程灵素、袁紫衣所发生的爱情。此书之中人物更为增多，人物性格更为丰满。该书在金庸作品中有比较重要地位，在艺术成就上属中乘之作。本连环画共计五册，谨请欣赏。
