About Gansu University Of Chinese Medicine

Gansu University of Chinese Medicine is a university co-built by the People’s Government of Gansu Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is approved by the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the “Pilot Reform of Excellent Doctor (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Education and Training Program”, as well as the “5+3” integrated enrollment institution for Chinese medicine students.

The university was founded in 1978 as Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 1989, the School established the Department of Tibetan Medicine based on the Tibetan Medicine major of Gannan Health School, and gradually developed into a School of Tibetan Medicine with the qualification of granting master’s degree. In 2014, Dingxi Normal College was integrated into the school. In 2015, the university was officially renamed Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2017, the phase I project of Heping Campus was completed and put into use, gradually completing the overall relocation of teaching and administration. In 2018, the university successfully passed the examination and evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education, and signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
