About Hefei Technology College

Hefei Technology College (formerly Chaohu Vocational and Technical College) was founded in 2002 by merging three provincial key technical secondary schools, namely Chaohu Health School, Chaohu Agricultural School (Anhui Land Management School) and Chaohu Finance School. It is one of the earliest vocational colleges established in our province. In 2007, 2008 and 2010, Anhui Motor Transport Advanced Technical School, Chaohu Branch of Anhui Radio and Television University and Chaohu Business Cadre School were merged. In April 2012, due to the adjustment of Anhui provincial administrative division, it was renamed Hefei Technology College, becoming the only city-owned comprehensive higher vocational college in Hefei. The university is one of the first 16 local skilled universities in Anhui Province (grade A) established by the provincial Department of Education. It is a national “Action Plan for Innovation and Development” high-quality vocational college, a winner of the third China Quality Award nomination Award, the first vocational college principal training base of the Ministry of Education, and the first civilized campus in Anhui Province. The university has been awarded the titles of “Provincial School-Enterprise Cooperation Demonstration Base” and “Provincial Entrepreneurship College”.

The school now covers an area of 1220.30 mu, with a total construction area of 562,600 square meters and a total investment of over 3.2 billion yuan. There are 56 specialties enrolled in 11 schools, including Medical School, School of Automotive Engineering, School of Rail Transportation, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Biological Engineering, School of Information Engineering and Media (School of Internet of Things), School of Economy and Trade and Tourism, School of Architectural Engineering, School of Basic Education, School of Marxism, and School of Continuing Education. Up to now, the university has more than 17,000 full-time students and 7,000 part-time education students. The average annual employment rate of graduates is over 96%, and the employment rate of Hefei reaches 60%. In April 2021, Vice Premier of The State Council Sun Chunlan paid an inspection visit to the university and gave full affirmation to the employment work of the university.

The university is approved by the Ministry of Education as one of the first batch of “Talent Training Bases for people-to-people exchanges between China and Foreign countries in the field of Intelligent Manufacturing”. Relying on the pillar industries of Hefei City and large and medium-sized enterprises in modern Vocational Education Group, centering on “relying on industries to run majors, running majors well to promote employment”, deepening the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, realizing the integration of industry, profession and employment, and the integration of education chain, talent chain, industrial chain and innovation chain, the comprehensive strength of running schools has been steadily improved. It has formed a distinctive, flexible and dynamic school-running mode and mechanism, and achieved good social effects in personnel training and social services.

In order to better serve the economic and social development of Hefei City, we put forward the strategic concept of “one school, two districts and one park” (new station Huixinhu Campus, Chaohu Gushan Campus, Jinzhai Road Entrepreneurship and Innovation Park) in combination with the school’s educational strength, conditions and positioning, which was soon fully recognized and supported by the municipal Party Committee and government. In September 2018, the new Huixinhu campus was completed and put into use. Huixinhu Campus mainly focuses on Hefei’s pillar industries and strategic emerging industries to build major groups. At present, Huixinhu Campus has built six major groups, including mechanical and electrical, information, economic and trade tourism, rail transit, art and design, to build a number of characteristic brand majors with great influence in the country. In combination with the regional development orientation of Chaohu City, Chaohu Gushan Campus aims to develop the traditional advantagedspecialties of the College, retain the specialties of medicine, biology, architecture, automobile and so on, and further expand the relevant professional fields. Jinzhai Road Innovation and Innovation Park aims to improve students’ ability of innovation and entrepreneurship, provide professional practice and training, serve local economic development, and build into Hefei high-tech vocational college industrial Park.
