黄河水绕[1]汉宫墙[2]，
河上秋风雁几行。
客子[3]过壕[4]追野马[5]，
将军弢箭[6]射天狼[7]。
黄尘古渡迷飞挽[8]，
白月横空冷战场。
闻道朔方多勇略[9]，
只今谁是郭汾阳[10]。
注释：
[1]绕：沿着。
[2]汉宫墙：明朝当时在大同府西北所修的长城。
[3]客子：此指戍守边地的将士。
[4]过壕：越过护城河。
[5]追野马：追捕野马。
[6]弢箭：将箭装入袋中，就是整装待发之意。
[7]天狼：天狼星，古人以为此星出现预示有外敌入侵，“射天狼”即抗击入侵之敌。
[8]飞挽：用车船快速运送粮草。迷飞挽，是说在滚滚的黄尘中难以看清运送粮草的船队、车队。
[9]勇略：英勇善战而又富于谋略的将军。
[10]郭汾阳：郭子仪，唐代名将，领兵平定安史之乱，收复长安，官至中书令，以功封汾阳郡王，后又数次抵御吐蕃等进攻。
Autumn on the Frontier
Li Mengyang
The Yellow River girds the Great Wall on frontier;
Rows of wild geese in autumn breeze honk sad and drear.
The soldiers cross the trench to pursue the wild horse;
The general shoots his arrows on the Tartar force[1].
At ancient ferries dust darkens the food supply;
The battlefield is chilled by pale moon in pale sky.
It is said in the north that many heroes stand.
But who will now, like General Guo, defend the land?
