五月十九日大雨

风驱急雨洒高城,

云压轻雷殷[1]地声。

雨过不知龙去处,

一池草色万蛙鸣。

注释:

[1]殷:响动。

Pouring Rain on the 19th Day of the 5th Moon

Liu Ji

The driving wind and rain pour on the city high;

The thunder weighed down by heavy clouds rumbles long.

After the rain we know not where the dragons[1] fly;

A pool green with grass echoes with frogs’ choral song.

注释:

[1]The dragons were believed in ancient China to be in charge of rain.
