Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology originated from “Zhongnan Military Engineering School” founded by Zhongnan Bureau of Military Engineering in 1950, which was the first batch of military engineering schools founded by new China. In 1998, it became one of the first full-time vocational schools set up by the Ministry of Education, and in 1999, it was transferred to Hubei Provincial People’s Government.
