About Yunnan Vocational College Of Transpotation

Yunnan Vocational College Of Transpotation is a full-time ordinary college directly under the Department of Transportation of Yunnan Province. The college was founded in 1953. In 2017, with the approval of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province and the record of the Ministry of Education, a new “Yunnan Transport Vocational College” was established on the basis of the Yunnan Institute of Transport Technicians to run a school with “two brands and one team”. The college adheres to the integration of production and education, school enterprise cooperation, the combination of work and learning, the unity of knowledge and practice, and builds the “double certificate” training mode of “college+high skills” for technical and skilled talents. It has become an applied technology based higher vocational college integrating vocational education, social training, and skill identification, with the coordinated development of production, learning, and research.

The headquarters of the College is located in Anning, a national new district in Yunnan. The college covers an area of 1705 mu, with a building area of 284000 square meters. It has 12 teaching departments, including Automobile College, Highway College, Aviation College, Shipping College, Smart Transportation College, School of Public Service and Management, Continuing Education Department, Basic Teaching Department, Sports Department, and Automobile Driving and Safety Teaching Department; There are nearly 800 teaching staff and more than 11000 students at school; At present, there are 34 permanent specialties of the “two institutes”, covering the fields of automobile, highway, water transportation, aviation, transportation services, etc; The employment rate of graduates has remained above 98% for many consecutive years, ranking among the top universities and technical colleges in the province; The annual average number of various trainings, examinations and trainings is more than 200,000.

The College firmly establishes the idea of cultivating talents for transportation industry enterprises and serving regional economic development, advocates the concept of “entering the school is entering the factory, practical training is going to work, cultivating professional quality, and building craftsmanship spirit”, and adheres to the development path of combining work with learning, combining production with education, and school enterprise cooperation. Four major teaching and production entities, including the Automobile Driving and Safety Teaching Department and the Anda Automobile Repair Factory, have been established, and more than 30 school enterprise cooperation training centers, including BMW, Porsche, Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, FAW Dazhong, Dongfeng Citroen, Dongfeng Peugeot, Dongfeng Nissan, and Bosch, have been established. The College is the director unit of the Technical Branch of the Automobile Special Committee of the National Transportation Vocational Education Steering Committee and the vice chairman unit of the Technical Branch of the China Transportation Education Research Association.
