Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang province, is the southern terminus of the ancient Grand Canal waterway, which originates in Beijing. About Zhejiang Business College

Zhejiang Business College (ZJBC) is a time-honored institution. It has developed from its predecessor Hangzhou Secondary Commercial School, which was founded in 1911. Embracing its school motto of “Honesty, tenacity, diligence and simplicity” and adhering to the guide-line principle of “nurturing talents and serving society”, ZJBC has, over the past one hundred years or so, turned out a multitude of professionals, among whom are such celebrities as Mr. Luo Gengmo the economist and Mr. Zhang Naiqi the patriot. For its remarkable achievements in education, the college has been crowned “the talent-nurturing cradle for the business arena of Zhejiang Province”. Now it is a National High-Quality Vocational College, and is listed as one of China’s first batch of Modern Apprenticeship Pilot Colleges and Universities, China’s first batch of Digitized Campus Pilot Schools, Zhejiang Province’s first batch of Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges, Zhejiang Province’s first batch of High Quality Higher Vocational Colleges, Zhejiang Province’s Classroom Teaching Innovation Colleges, and Zhejiang Province Key Colleges for “Three integrity education” Comprehensive Reform.

ZJBC is located in the beautiful city of Hangzhou, with its main campus located in Binjiang Higher Education Park in south bank of the picturesque Qiantang River, and its Desheng Campus and exclusively-invested enterprise Zhejiang Commercial Machinery Plant located in the downtown area. ZJBC and Yiwu Municipal People’s Government co-found Zhejiang E-Commerce College. ZJBC covers an area of 592 mu (39.5 hectares) and a building area of 23 million square meters. The college library has a collection of over 1 million books and over 3.31 million electronic books. ZJBC has more than 11,000 full time students, and is well-staffed with more than 600 faculty members, among whom there are 440 full-time teachers, 4 national second-grade professors, 50 with a senior professional title, 152 with a assistant senior professional title,44 with (or pursuing) doctoral degree, 473 with master’s degree or above.

ZJBC is made up of 12 secondary schools, namely, School of Economics and Management, School of E-Commerce, School of Finance and Accounting, School of Applied Engineering, School of Tourism and Culinary Arts, School of Art and Design, School of International Studies, School of Marxism, School of Humanities, School of Entrepreneurship, and School of Continuing Education, and School of Zhejiang E-Commerce. There are 32 programs, among which Chain Operation Management and E-Commerce are Central Finance Funded Programs; Culinary Arts and Nutrition and Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning Engineering are listed as Provincial Key Programs; 7 are listed by Ministry of Education as Key Majors in the Innovative Development Action Plan for Higher Vocational Education, namely, Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning Engineering, Environment Art Design, Culinary Art and Nutrition, Accounting, Mobile Commerce, Business Data Analysis and Application, and E-Commerce; 5 are listed as Key Programs in Provincial Demonstrative Colleges, namely, Chain Operation Management, E-Commerce, Accounting, Hotel Management, and Environment Art Design; 5 are listed as Provincial Competitive Programs, namely, E-Commerce, Accounting, Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning Engineering, Environment Art Design, and Culinary Art and Nutrition; 9 are listed as Provincial Characteristic Programs, namely, Chain Operation Management, E-Commerce, Applied Electronic Technology, Logistics Management, Hotel Management, Visual Communication Design and Making, International Trade Affairs, Investment and Financial Management, and Environment Art Design. ZJBC has won 4 awards in education achievements appraisal at the national level, and 11 at the provincial level.
