Zhuhai College of Science and Technology (formerly Zhuhai College of Jilin University) was established on May 18, 2004, and was qualified for granting bachelor’s degree in 2011. Zhuhai College of Science and Technology(hereinafter called “ZCST”) now has 25 secondary colleges, 9 university major clusters, 66 undergraduate majors, and more than 30,000 full-time undergraduate students.ZCST covers an area of 398acres and is equipped with good teaching and living facilities, including teaching buildings, libraries, comprehensive laboratories, electromagnetic laboratories, logistics laboratories, gymnasiums, swimming pools, stadiums, driving range, basketball courts, etc. ZCST library covers an area of 54,000 square meters and is the largest library (unit area) in Asia. It has more than 4,000 reading seats, 59 databases and more than 3 million books and e-books.
Since its establishment in 2004, more than 80,000 undergraduates and 123 joint training postgraduate students have been successfully graduated from ZCST. The employment rate of undergraduates remains more than 97% for 6 consecutive years. Awarded the honors of “China Industry-University-Research CooperationDemonstration Base”and” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Demonstration School of Guangdong Province”,ZCST has developed into an influential private college with distinctive school-running characteristics in China, and it has been ranking first among the independent college category in China for 7 consecutive years.
In February 2021, Zhuhai College of Jilin University (JLUZH) has officially been renamed as Zhuhai College of Science and Technology (ZCST) with the approval of China’s Ministry of Education (MOE), which will be operated under the same entity and on the same scale. In the process of renaming, with its solid foundation, ZCST has been highly recognized by evaluation experts from the MOE.
And ZCSTranked second and fourth respectively in 2021 and 2022 among private universities in China and first in both 2021 and 2022 among private universities in Guangdong Province, according to theRanking compiled by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, which is one of four authoritative World University Rankings.
