夜筝
紫袖红弦明月中，
自弹自感[1]暗低容[2]。
弦凝指咽声停处，
别有深情一万重。
《夜筝》可以说是把《琵琶行》剪裁成了一首绝句。第一句的“紫袖”代弹筝人，“红弦”代筝，暗示她的乐伎身份，衣饰美好，乐器精良；“明月”表示是夜，可以使人想起“浔阳江头夜送客”的情景。第二句的“自弹”使人想起“低眉信手续续弹”，“自感”则是沉浸在乐曲中。第三句的“弦凝”使人想到“冰泉冷涩弦凝绝”，“指咽”则会使人想到“幽咽泉流水下滩”，所以使人觉得“别有深情一万重”了。

In moonlight violet sleeves caress the lute red;
