Since each man’s fate is in his background,
Why sigh when you walk and grieve when you rest!
I drink and find some comfort in the wine;
Cups and cups I drink and stop my song.
Unlike wood or stone, my heart cannot resign;
Yet I keep my mouth shut all along.
