Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology is a fashion university with a profound history and distinctive school-running characteristics. The predecessor of the school was the Beijing Institute of Textile Technology, founded in February 1959. It was renamed Beijing Chemical Fiber Engineering College in July 1961. It was established by the former Ministry of Textile Industry and focused on chemical fiber higher education. In February 1987, the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology was rebuilt and expanded to meet the needs of the development of the times. It was the first public clothing college in my country.

The school adheres to the school motto of “walking with the United States”, centering on clothing and apparel, with design as the leader, and gradually formed the school-running characteristics of “focusing on art, leading clothing, and integrating arts and crafts”.
