Listen to this article《直玉堂作》是南宋诗人洪咨夔创作的一首七言绝句。此诗写入直翰林，替皇帝拟拜相诏书的轻松、得意之情。首句写宫门锁上以后宫内环境的寂静；次句写诗人正在起草两位宰相的任命书。后两句写五更天的情况，三句写已经传来了报晓的声音；末句写月光照着台阶，也照着紫薇花，并暗用紫薇省典故。诗写得含蓄而有味。

The palace silent, with gates and doors locked all,
Dense ink is spilt to draft two edicts in Jade Hall.
Before the watchmen announce the early daybreak,
I see the roses steeped in moonlight not yet awake.
