欧阳修
把酒祝[1]东风，
且共从容。
垂杨紫陌[2]洛城东。
总是当时携手处，
游遍芳丛。
聚散苦匆匆，
此恨无穷。
今年花胜去年红。
可惜明年花更好，
知与谁同。
注释：
[1]祝：祈祷，请求。
[2]紫陌：帝都的道路，北宋时以洛阳为西京，所以洛阳城的道路也叫紫陌。

Wine cup in hand, I drink to the eastern breeze:
Let us enjoy with ease!
On the violet pathways
Green with willows east of the capital,
We used to stroll hand in hand in bygone days,
Rambling past flower shrubs one and all.
In haste to meet and part
Would ever break the heart.
Flowers this year
Redder than last appear.
Next year more beautiful they’ll be.
But who will enjoy them with me?

This lyric sings of the poet’ s friendship with another poet Mei Yaochen.
《浪淘沙·把酒祝东风》是宋代文学家欧阳修的词作。此词伤时惜别，抒发了人生聚散无常的感叹。上片由现境而忆已过之境，即由眼前美景而思去年同游之乐；下片再由现境而思未来之境，含遗憾之情于其中，尤表现出对友谊的珍惜。全词笔致疏放，婉丽隽永，含蕴深刻，耐人寻味。
The song “Sand-sifting Waves” is a lyric by Ouyang Xiu, a writer of the Song Dynasty. It expresses the lamentation that life is unpredictable. The first piece recalls the past situation from the present one, i.e. from the beautiful scenery in front of the eyes to the joy of traveling together last year; the second piece contemplates the future situation from the present one, containing regret in it, and especially expresses the cherishing of friendship. The whole lyric is sparse, graceful and timeless, with profound implications and intriguing flavors.
