Shanghai Technical Institute of Electronics and Information(STIEl) is a national full time public higher vocational college with a history of more than 61 years, featuring cultivating talents in such high-tech industries as electronic information,advanced manufacturing industry,producer service sector,as well as city services sector. The campus of STIEl is located in Fengxian District,Shanghai,covering an area of more than 500 mu (ie.308,347 m2).There are also Minhang Campus、Xuhui Campus and Putuo Campus. At present, there are about 11,448 full-time students and 600 teachers. Teachers with medium and higher professional titles cover 90% of the full-time teachers and about 91% of them are dual-qualification teachers. Graduates’ employment rate of STIEl has stabilized at more than 97%,90% of which are employed in the field of electronic information industry,software and information service sector, city services sector and other related industries. and the employers are satisfied with 90% of the graduates. STIE consists of 10 departments/schools,including School of Electronic Technology and Engineering. School of Communication and Information Engineering,School of Machinery and Energy Engineering, School of Economics and Management,School of Sino-German Engineering,School of Art Design, School of Foreign Languages, School of Marxism,School of Common Basic Education,and School of Continuing Education. There are 37 recruitment majors,including 8 national key specialties and 10 Shanghai municipal key specialties.lt constitutes a professional system with electronic information major and manufacturing major as the main body, and finance and economics major and art design major develop together.
