About Wuxi Vocational Institute Of Commerce

Wuxi Vocational Institute Of Commerce was founded in 1965, is a provincial public institute, mainly for the modern service industry to train high-quality technical skills of full-time higher education, the existing full-time students nearly 14,000, more than 800 teaching staff. Since its establishment, the institute has always been committed to providing vocational education to the satisfaction of the people and has trained a large number of high-quality technical and technical talents. 2007 and 2011, the institute passed the evaluation of talent training of higher vocational institutions by the Ministry of Education with excellent results; in 2008, it was identified as the first batch of model higher vocational institutions in Jiangsu Province; in 2012, it was listed as the first batch of modern vocational education system construction pilot project units in Jiangsu Province. In 2017, it was selected as the construction unit of high-level vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province, and ranked the first in the province and the fourth in the country in terms of innovation development influence of national vocational colleges; in 2019, it was evaluated as the national high-quality vocational institute and selected as the construction unit of national “double-high plan”. The institute has been honored as one of the “Top 50 Institutions for Educational Effectiveness” and “Top 50 International Influence”, and has been awarded as a National institute with National National Defense Education, a National Model institute of Digital Campus Construction for Vocational Colleges and Universities, a National Model Unit of Saving Public Institutions, a National May 4 Red Flag Youth League Committee, and a National Youth League of Jiangsu Province. In 2019, representatives of the institute were received by Party and State leaders such as General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. In the 2019-2020 Wushulian institute Ranking, the institute was ranked 15th in the comprehensive strength of national higher education institutions.

The institute has a strong leadership in party building, vigorously implementing the party building strong foundation project, continuously deepening the reform of institutional mechanisms, fully forming the governance system of “party committee leadership, principal responsibility, professor governance, democratic management”, and continuously stimulating the vitality of institute operation.

The institute has strong professional construction strength, with one national high-level professional group, six national backbone majors, two majors supported by the central government, four professional groups selected for the construction of high-level professional groups in Jiangsu Province, 18 projects selected for the pilot of “1+X” certificate system by the Ministry of Education, and 10 national professional, curriculum and vocational skills standards formulated by the institute. More than 10 national standards for majors, courses and vocational skills have been formulated, 13 textbooks have been selected as national planning textbooks for vocational education in the “13th Five-Year Plan”, 6 national quality courses have been built, and 10 national teaching resource libraries have been presided over and participated in the construction.

The institute has been selected as one of the first pilot units of modern apprenticeship system by the Ministry of Education and successfully passed the acceptance, and has hosted the National Vocational College Skills Competition for 6 consecutive years, winning 30 first prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition and 7 special prizes and first prizes in the National and Provincial College “Challenge Cup” Competition. In 2020, the institute won 2 gold medals in the 6th China International “Internet+” Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

The institute has achieved remarkable results in the integration of industry and education, leading the formation of the National Business Vocational Education Group, the China New Business Practice Education Industry Education Alliance, and the National Practice Education Industry Education Alliance, and has built 5 training bases supported by the central and provincial governments, 3 national production training bases, 1 national collaborative innovation center, 3 provincial training platforms (integrated platforms) for the integration of industry and education, and 2 projects have been selected for the China ” institute-Enterprise Cooperation Double Hundred Plan”. Jiangsu Business Vocational Education Group was selected as the first batch of national model group cultivation units.

There are 2 national “double-teacher” teacher training bases, 1 national skill master workshop, 2 national teaching teams, nearly 50 teaching masters, social science talents, youth blue project and other talent projects in Jiangsu Province, 12 members of the line index committee, 1 national skill master, 1 member of the committee. There are 12 members of the line guidance committee, 1 national-level skill master, and teachers have won the first prize in the national informatization teaching competition for 3 consecutive years.

The institute’s cultural construction is full of highlights, organizing and rehearsing the first national original dance drama “The Stormy Tin Merchant” with the theme of “tin merchants” and winning the bid for the Jiangsu Province elegant art to campus expansion project, winning the second prize of the Ministry of Education for three consecutive years for outstanding achievements in college cultural construction, and being awarded the first batch of intangible cultural heritage research bases in Jiangsu Province and the national vocational colleges “It has been awarded as the first research base of intangible cultural heritage in Jiangsu Province, the demonstration base of non-heritage education and inheritance, the demonstration base of traditional skills inheritance, and the demonstration base of “one institute, one product” campus culture brand of vocational colleges and universities by the Ministry of Education.
