Author’s comments:
The way this is worded needs a bit of background, it is dissecting the term 煙花 (fireworks) into its character constituents. 煙花 literally 煙 (smoke, vapour, fumes) 花 (flower, but also splendour, patterns, sparkles amongst other meanings, even scratches). By default however, seen on its own, 花 is unambiguously flower. The lyrics appears to link smoke with unrequited love and sparkles with happiness; idea is that happiness still exists even after abandoning one’s futile infatuation.

Breaking this into component characters does cause a bit of awkwardness going through translations.

如抬頭沒有煙, 心中總有花
This is a touch incoherent to me even for a stretched metaphor. Could it be trying imply that sparkles (from fireworks) are always there even though no smoke was visible? Perhaps someone else could see the intended meaning more clearly.
