村夜
霜草苍苍[1]虫切切，
村南村北行人绝。
独出前门望野田，
月明荞麦花如雪。
这首诗用白描的手法写出了一个乡村之夜。“霜草苍苍”点出了秋色的浓重，虫声切切渲染了秋夜的凄清。村南村北，行人绝迹，写的是景，但是景色的萧瑟凄凉，又透露出诗人孤独寂寞的心情。后两句从门内转到野外，一望明月如水，荞麦如雪，这光明的景象和诗人忧郁的心情形成了鲜明的对比，使诗人的心灵受到大自然的洗礼，感情也变得洁如霜雪了。这种寓情于景的写法使诗读起来更富有韵味。

The chilly crickets chirp among the grass frost-white;
