对雪
战哭[1]多新鬼[2]，
愁吟[3]独老翁。
乱云低薄暮，
急雪舞回风[4]。
瓢[5]弃樽无绿，
炉存火似红。
数州消息断，
愁坐[6]正书空[7]。
这首诗是在长安失陷后写的。安禄山攻陷长安后，诗人逃到半路被叛军抓回。痛苦的心情，艰难的生活，时时折磨着他。房琯所率唐军新败，死伤数万，长安光复无望，又给诗人心头蒙上一层愁苦。诗的开头暗示唐军大败，以及自身所处环境的险恶。三、四两句既点出题目，又对应上文的“独”，身为俘虏，唯有风雪相对，沉郁的困苦愁情被这乱云急雪渲染、放大。诗人的生活也贫困窘迫，酒葫芦在动乱中早已丢弃，酒樽也成了摆设，炉子里仿佛有火在熊熊燃烧，这种想象的手法，把诗人渴望温暖的感受和铁炉的冰冷生动鲜明地展露无遗。末尾回归对家人和局势的担忧，表达了诗人对国家命运的深切关怀。

Facing Snow
So many weep on battlefield;
An old man sings with grief he’s filled.
At dusk the tousled clouds fly low;
In swirling wind falls sudden snow.
The gourd and pot not green with wine,
How for a burning stove does he pine!
Could he get news from anywhere?
What can he do but write in air!
《对雪》是唐代大诗人杜甫创作的一首五律。此诗写于“安史之乱”期间，诗人杜甫为叛军所羁押，而又听闻唐军新败，愁望着漫天飞舞的飘雪，感受着冷冽刺骨的寒意，对国家和亲人的命运深切关怀而又无从着力的苦恼心情油然而发。
The poem “Facing Snow” is a poem written by the great poet Du Fu of the Tang Dynasty. The poem was written during the “An Shi Rebellion”, when Du Fu was detained by the rebels and heard of the new defeat of the Tang army, and he looked sadly at the drifting snow in the sky and felt the cold, biting chill.
