¹: A reference to the idiom/chengyu 冤家路窄, from the novel Journey to the West. Literally: “The road is narrow for bitter enemies.” Figuratively: You can’t ever avoid your enemies in this small world.
²: “冤家” (yuān jiā) originally means an enemy or a foe, but is also used as a term of affection in a very opposite sense, that of a sweetheart or destined lover. (It’s hard to translate!) This contradiction is reflected in the song title with the phrase 王牌 (wáng pái), literally “trump card.”
