闻雁

韦应物

故园[1][2]何处,

归思方悠[3]哉。

淮南[4]秋雨夜,

高斋闻雁来。

注释:

[1] 故园:故乡。

[2] 眇:同“渺”。形容距离很远。

[3] 悠:长。

[4] 淮南:淮水之南。时诗人任滁州刺史,滁州在唐代属于淮南道(今安徽省滁县)。

On Hearing Homing Wild Geese

My native land’s far, far away,

My nostalgia grows day by day.

Alone on rainy autumn night

I hear homing wild geese in flight.
