若问相思甚了期[2]，
除非相见时。

注释：
[1]长相思：唐教坊曲名，后用作词牌。因古乐府中有“上言长相思，下言久别离”句，取以为名。一说此曲原名“湘妃怨”，是民间祭祀娥皇、女英时所用的乐曲。据上古传说：虞舜巡游南方，亡，二妃寻至潇湘。二妃啼，以涕挥竹，竹尽斑。白居易依《湘妃怨》的节拍填词，此曲因而成为词调，名《长相思》，又名《相思令》《双红豆》《忆多娇》《青山相送迎》《吴山青》，双调三十六字，上下阕各四句四平韵。
[2]甚了期：何时才能了却。
[3]说似谁：犹“说与谁”。

《长相思·长相思》是北宋词人晏几道所写的一首词。词人运用设问的方式表现了一位相思女子的相思恋情的深切急迫难耐，以及其无望而又无法宣泄情感的心绪变化。
“Everlasting Longing” is a lyric written by Yan Qidao, a lyricist of the Northern Song Dynasty. The lyricist uses questions to express the deep impatience of a lovesick woman and her hopeless and unexplained change of heart.
