行军九日思长安故园
岑参[1]
强欲[2]登高[3]去，
无人送酒来。
遥怜故园[4]菊，
应傍[5]战场[6]开。
注释：
[1] 岑参：盛唐的边塞诗人。《千家诗》注说：“此从军而思故园之作。言身在军中，边警稍息，当此佳节，非无高山可游秋色可玩也。其奈无人送酒而其兴遂阑。军中稍闲，而长安犹乱，君上播迁。而吾乡故园之菊，恐应践踏为战场矣，伤哉！”这首诗反映了作者反对战争，留恋重阳登高，饮酒赏菊的太平生活。

Strongly I’d climb up mountains high,
But none would send me wine cups filled.

The poem “Nostalgia on Mountain-climbing Day” is a five-part poem composed by the Tang Dynasty poet Cen Shen. This poem, titled “Climbing the Heights on the Heavy Sun”, expresses not the usual festival homesickness, but the concern for the affairs of the country and the hardship of the people in the midst of war. The poem is simple in language, refined in conception and infinite in rhyme, and is a lyrical masterpiece with simple words and deep meaning.
