八月洞庭秋，

还家万里梦，

On Dongting Lake Mid-autumn glows;
The Southern River northward flows.
I dream of my home far away,
Grieved to wake up at break of day.
I will not read my books and pine.
But go up to a shop of wine.
My friends in royal towns remain.
When can we boat on lake again?
