项羽
力拔山兮气盖世，
时不利兮骓[2]不逝。
骓不逝兮可奈何，
虞兮虞兮奈若何！
注释：
[1] 垓下歌：宋代郭茂倩《乐府诗集》题名为《力拔山操》，《文选补遗》题为《垓下帐中歌》，冯惟讷《古诗记》题为《垓下歌》。《史记》记载西楚霸王项羽被汉军困于垓下（今安徽灵璧南沱河北岸），兵少粮尽，夜饮帐中，自知败局已定，乃慷慨悲歌，作此诗，后自刎乌江。
[2] 骓：毛色苍白混杂的马。

I could pull mountains down, oh! With main and might,
But my good fortune wanes, oh! My steed won’t fight.
Whether my steed will fight, oh! I do not care.
What can I do with you, oh! My lady fair!
注释：
[1] Xiang Yu, the conqueror fought against Liu Bang for the throne. Defeated, he and his favorite Lady Yu committed suicide. The lady was so beautiful that her name became a tune title: “The Beautiful Lady Yu.”
