The Taiyi Cave Scenic Area is located on Shiwu Mountain in Xianning City’s Wenquan District. Legend has it that the cave was excavated by the mystery figure Taiyi to accommodate refugees from flooding. The open area in the cave can hold over ten thousand people. Hanging stalactites and stone pillars stand out as amazing wonders of nature. Walking through its course, visitors can see rock formations that resemble a statue of Taiyi, a drum, a pagoda, even bamboo shoots. When walking out of the cave, the magnificent Taiyi Temple is the first thing to appear in front of visitors’ eyes.
