The Golden Hour

Dear is the magic golden hour
When slant is light and oblique
Stretch all the shadows.
A vastness of incredible splendor
Needle after needle skillfully knit
With sunset’s threads of fine silk.
If you could find where all began
And lightly draw and quietly pull,
You surely could catch
All these red-gold scales in one net.
