栾家濑[1]
飒飒[2]秋雨中，
浅浅[3]石溜[4]泻。
跳波[5]自相溅，
白鹭惊复下。

The Rapids
In rustling autumn rain
Water on pebbles dashes,
And starts the egret when
It sprinkles into splashes.
《栾家濑》为唐代诗人王维创作的一首五言绝句。此诗前两句营造了一幅闲适的画卷，写在风雨交加的秋日里，浅浅的溪水在石头上轻快地流动；后两句写溪流相互碰撞吓到了水中的白鹭，使其飞起又落下之趣景。全诗纯用白描手法，虽无一句直接抒发情感，但是每一句景物描写都弥漫着一种淡雅之气，读来有一种澄澈、恬静之美。
“The Rapids” is a five-line poem written by Wang Wei, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. The first two lines of the poem create a leisurely painting of a shallow stream flowing briskly over the rocks on a stormy autumn day; the second two lines write about the interesting scene where the streams collide with each other and scare the egrets in the water, causing them to fly up and fall down. The poem is purely descriptive, and although there is no direct expression of emotion in any of the lines, every description of the scene is suffused with a light and elegant air, and there is a clear and tranquil beauty in reading it.
