Brief Introduction
Mount Pan is located in the northwest of Jizhou District, Tianjin. It is a national 5A scenic spot. The scenic spot was first recorded in the Han Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty, and flourished in the Qing Dynasty. It is a tourist and leisure resort with natural landscapes and scenic spots, Buddhist culture, and royal culture.
In history, many emperors, generals, scholars, and scholars visited here. Emperor Qianlong乾隆 of the Qing Dynasty visited Mount Pan 32 times, leaving 1702 poems praising Panshan, and lamenting that “if we had known the existence of Panshan, there was no need to go to the south of the Yangtze River“.
Panshan is one of the few 5A scenic spots approved by the State Council around Tianjin. The scenic spot is a tourist and leisure resort with natural landscapes and scenic spots, Buddhist culture, and royal culture.
According to statistics, at present, there are 224 well-preserved and legible stone carvings on Mount Pan, including 102 inscriptions, 22 inscriptions, and 120 poems. Among these stone carvings, Qianlong has the most stone carvings, including 118 poems, 1 inscription, and 12 inscriptions, more than half of the Panshan stone carvings.

The scenery of Panshan is different in four seasons. At the turn of spring and summer, the flowers are blooming and the peaches and apricots are blooming. After the summer rain, the mountains are blue and the hills are green. At the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, the fruits are fragrant and the red leaves are all over the mountain. In the winter of December, the snow is white and the pines are green.
Panshan mountain is majestic and precipitous. The main peak, the Guayue peak挂月峰, is 864.4 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by Zigai peak紫盖峰 in the front, followed by Zilai peak自来峰 in the rear, Jiuhua peak九华峰 in the East, Wujian peak舞剑峰 in the west, and five peaks in the cluster. The rocks are jagged.
The Administration Bureau of Panshan scenic spot has invested a large amount of money to reorganize and improve the wonders of water in the lower wall. On the basis of the passenger ropeway in Mount Pan, the Yunsong passenger ropeway云松客运 in Panshan has been built and opened, which allows visitors to reach the “Guayue peak” at the top of Panshan. A series of special tourism activities have also been launched in the scenic area. Among them, the large-scale Qianlong mountain tour performance in ancient clothes reproduces the grand occasion of the Qianlong mountain tour in that year.
In history, there were 72 temples and many exquisite pagodas, and a royal garden. It is famous for the “East Wutai Mountain“. North Shaolin Temple北少林寺, formerly known as “Faxing Temple法兴寺” and later called North Shaolin Buddhist temple, is located on the open hillside at the southern foot of the pan mountain. It was built in the Wei and Jin Dynasties and has a history of about 1500 years. It is the earliest local Buddhist temple recorded in Jixian county蓟县 annals and the earliest temple in Tianjin.
It is said that Buddhism has been introduced into Jixian County in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The first local Buddhist temple, Xianglin temple, was built at the foot of Panshan mountain. By the Tang Dynasty, Buddhism had made great progress in Panshan. Panshan was famous in the Buddhist world as “East Wutai Mountain”. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, especially in the Qing Dynasty, it began to enter the peak development period. The Qing court has allocated funds many times to build, expand and build Mount Pan temple on a large scale.
Since ancient times, Panshan has attracted numerous scholars to travel and sing with its unique beauty, thus leaving many precious historical and cultural heritages and forming a rich historical culture of Panshan.
