Passing the Night at Dragon Temple

Qiwu Qian

In the temple I pass the night;

Amid outdoor pines blows the breeze light.

To abbot’s cell the lamplight leads;

On monk’s cloak hangs a string of beads.

Their heart is bright as sunny day;

As lotus pure is Buddhist way.

Long, long celestial flowers fly;

Birds pecking them go up the sky.
