三月东风吹雪消,

湖南山色翠如浇。

一声羌管[1]无人见,

无数梅花落野桥。

注释:

[1]羌管:羌笛。

To Mume Blossoms

Wang Mian

In the third moon the snow melts when the east wind blows;

The lakeside southern hills seem sprinkled with green dew.

Where comes the dirge of Tartar flute nobody knows?

Your countless fallen petals blot bridges out of view.
