Longing for the Spring Breeze

At night waiting alone under a dim lamp,
with the spring breeze blowing on my cheeks.
In the teen a maiden still I,
have just seen a handsome beau.
Good-looking and quite a dandy,
from which family he’d be from?
Intent to ask him, but I’m shy,
my heart is beeping hastily as playing Pipa.

Wishing him to be the groom of mine,
but only hiding the love in my heart.
Waiting for the day the beau comes to pick,
when the flower of youth is in full bloom.
Someone seems to be at the door,
I open the door earnestly to have a look,
Lady Moon laughs at me for being a fool,
as I’m tricked by the breeze.
