Mum sat at the door
And hummed to flowers and kids she thumbed
Though it’s been past for years
I still recall her brimming eyes
In those dark and gloomy years
Smouldered firmness, fears and sighs
At the door before departure
Mum saw my eyes and said:“Live a more than desultory life
Open arms to poems and distant lands
You are born to this world with bare hands
To quest for that ocean you ought to strive”
She sat at the opposite side
Her head down, bidding farewell
Though it’s been past for years
I still recall her brimmed tears
Among those joyful beams
Were flaring our oaths and dreams
We parted by roadside
She hugged me tight and said:“Live a more than desultory life

You are born to this world with bare hands
To quest for that ocean you ought to strive”I’ve traveled far and alone.
Now my own kid has been born
He is growing day by day
And will travel alone someday
Seeing him grow from his back
Stronger and stronger, and look back
As I’ve foreseen, one day,
