A bank card refers to a credit payment tool with all or part of the functions of consumer credit, transfer settlement, cash deposit and withdrawal, issued to the society by commercial banks (including postal financial institutions) upon approval. Bank cards have reduced the circulation of cash and checks, making the banking business break through the limitations of time and space, and have undergone fundamental changes. The application of the automatic bank card settlement system has made the dream of a “check-free, cashless society” a reality.

According to different functions, debit cards are divided into transfer cards, special cards, and stored-value cards. Debit cards cannot be overdrawn. The debit card has the functions of transfer, deposit and withdrawal of cash and consumption. A special card is a debit card used in a specific area and for special purposes (referring to purposes other than the department store, catering, and entertainment industries), and has the functions of transfer and cash withdrawal. A stored-value card is a prepaid wallet-style debit card in which the bank transfers funds to the card for storage according to the cardholder’s request, and directly debits the card during the transaction.
