I Gather Lotus Blooms Across the Stream

Anonymous

I gather lotus blooms across the stream

In orchid marsh where fragrant flowers teem.

To whom shall I send what I pluck today?

The one I love is living far away.

I turn my eyes towards our old abode.

O what can I find but a long, long road.

Living apart, how can we be consoled?

Our hearts are one,

I’ll grieve till I grow old.
