洞庭春溜[2]满，平湖锦帆张。
沅水[3]桃花色[4]，湘流[5]杜若[6]香。
穴去[7]茅山[8]近，江连巫峡[9]长。
带天[10]澄[11]迥碧[12]，映日动浮光。
行舟逗[13]远树，度鸟[14]息危樯[15]。
滔滔[16]不可测，一苇讵能航[17]？
注释：
[1] 青草湖：在今湖南岳阳市南。水涨时，北通洞庭湖，南通湘水。湖的南面有青草山。
[2] 溜：水流。
[3] 沅水：沅江，入洞庭湖，桃源县在它的左岸。
[4] 桃花色：沅江两岸多桃花。沅江下游，陈代属武陵郡，疑此暗用陶渊明《桃花源记》所记桃源事。
[5] 湘流：湘江，在今湖南西部。
[6] 杜若：香草名。
[7] 去：距离。
[8] 茅山：原名句曲山，在今江苏句容县东南，传说西汉茅盈、茅固、茅衷兄弟三人在此修炼成仙。晋许谧、梁陶弘景等道士亦曾在此修道。
[9] 巫峡：长江峡谷，在重庆同湖北交界地段，因巫山而得名。相传巫山神女曾与楚襄王在阳台幽会。
[10] 带天：与天相连带。
[11] 澄：澄清。
[12] 迥碧：形容湖水辽阔而碧绿。
[13] 逗：停止。
[14] 度鸟：渡湖的鸟。
[15] 危樯：高高的桅帆。
[16] 滔滔：大水漫流的样子。
[17] 讵：犹“岂”。《诗经·河广》：“谁谓河广，一苇杭之。”末二句是说此湖不是小舟可渡的。
Crossing Green Grass Lake

On Green Grass Lake spring waves o’erflow;
With outspread sails my boat will go.
The stream in peach blossoms is dyed;
Queen’s flowers sweeten riverside.
East, the Immortal Cave is nigh;
West, Peak of Goddess towers high.
The sky purifies water green;
The sun reflected stirs floating sheen.
Sails hang atop the far-off tree;
On dizzy mast alight birds free.
Before the flood I’m at a loss.
Could my leaflike boat go across?
