The year 2023 marks the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Toh Weiyuan (卓玮媛), a Malaysian student, has a lot of feelings about how China has made rapid development and progress under the leadership of the CPC over the years. She shared her observations and experiences of China’s fruitful achievements.

Toh Weiyuan is currently studying in the Communication Research Institute of Communication University of China. Speaking of her life in China, she said she made many new friends from China, South Korea, and India during her study-in-China journey. For her, this is a good opportunity to learn about the cultures of other countries.

She was deeply impressed by the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an and other places of interest. She expressed her interest in China’s history, culture, and traditional clothing.

Toh Weiyuan said that under the leadership of the CPC, Chinese society is developing rapidly and has made achievements in many fields.

Toh Weiyuan observed that the Chinese government has been promoting poverty alleviation policies, not only promoting rural economic development, but also improving local infrastructure, helping a large number of people lift themselves out of poverty, and narrowing the overall wealth gap in China. “China has also been very successful in rural revitalization, not only promoting economic development in rural areas, but also improving education and medical conditions there, “she said.

In addition, China attaches great importance to innovation and technological progress, and has achieved tremendous achievements in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, and digital economy. The electronic payment technology commonly used in China has brought many conveniences to people’s lives.

What impressed her the most was the development of China’s education industry. She believes that Chinese universities are becoming increasingly international and attracting more and more foreign students. In Toh Weiyuan’s view, this is a great opportunity for international students to learn and communicate in an open and diverse cultural environment, which helps broaden their horizons.
