Our partner Chinese university – Belt and Road School, Beijing Normal University (BRS) had deep and fruitful exchange and communication with the local institutions, schools, students and agents on international study field，especially about study-in-China aspects. The whole overseas study tour lasted for 8 days and came to a successful conclusion.
BRS teachers and representers deeply introduce the university history, location and campus, providing wonderful pictures and videos showing everyone the beauty and promising atmosphere of BRS. Beijing Normal University (BNU) is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education in China, renowned for its emphasis on teacher education, educational sciences, and fundamental disciplines in arts and sciences. Its precursor was the Beijing Normal School, established in 1902, which was later renamed Beijing Advanced Normal School in 1908 and gained independent status. In 1912, it was renamed Beijing Higher Normal School and in 1923, it became Beijing Normal University, marking it as China’s first normal university in history. In 1931 and 1952, the University absorbed the Beijing Women’s Normal University and Fu Jen Catholic University, respectively.
The 13th Party Congress of BNU further clarified its educational mission to build a “comprehensive, research-oriented, and globally leading university in teacher education with Chinese characteristics.” It proposed a strategic vision called the “Three-Step Development Plan,” aiming to enter the forefront of world-class universities by the mid-21st century. Presently, the university is focused on establishing a disciplinary development system characterized by “plateau support and peak leadership,” with integrated campuses in Beijing and Zhuhai. It continually deepens comprehensive reforms while advancing various aspects of its endeavors. Beijing Normal University is steadily progressing towards its goal of becoming a world-class institution.
