春从何处来，
拂水复惊梅。
云障[1]青琐闼[2]，
风吹承露台[3]。
美人隔千里，
罗帏闭不开。
无由得共语，
空对相思杯。
注释：
[1] 云障：这里指美人所居之宫阙。
[2] 青琐闼：指宫门，因其刻为连锁文而以青色饰之，故称。
[3] 承露台：为汉武帝所建，上立铜仙人，舒掌托盘，以接甘露，以为饮之可以益寿延年，这里泛指宫廷建筑。

O where has spring come from to make
Streams ripple and mume blossoms wake?
The clouds have barred green-fretted gate;
The wind’s caressed dew-holding plate.
But my fair one cannot be seen,
Veiled by the gauze curtain and screen.
To talk with her I find no way;
In face of lovesick cup I stay.
